5th WSKF Championships Tokyo Japan 2006 |
16-09-2006 |
This was my second visit to Japan, the first being in 1999 when I competed at the World Shukokai Championships in Kobe and I was very happy to be back.
This time however my role was official representative of Shito-Kai Murayama UK and also to apply for direct membership to the WSKF (World Shitoryu Karate-do Federation).
I arrived at our hotel with Murayma sensei and his 30 strong Mexican team feeling very travel weary but keen to introduce my head to that plump pillow. |
|
The language barrier became apparent almost immediatley. For instance Hotel / Hostel. Room / Cupboard. Bed / Futon. Wardrobe / Coat hook. You get the picture. |
|
Anyhow I will let the photos tell the story. Surfice to say my trip saw me being introduced to some great masters Kenei Mabuni and WSKF President Hisatomi Tokio Sensei among them. Also I made many more friends from Mexico, Guatemala, Japan and even Scotland! |

Murayama Sensei was awarded 8th Dan and Sam Moledzki Sensei 7th Dan so our sincere congratulations go to them both. Our application for membership to the WSKF was accepted opening up many more oppertunities for our British members. |
