Murayama Spring Course 2008	05-05-2008
The 2 day course took place at the Elger Technology College- Worcester and was attended by nearly 200 students. First on the agenda was the Black Belt exams. Shodan Ho exams were over seen by Sensei Phil Powell and Sensei Steve Bolland. Murayama Sensei examined Shodan and Nidan candidates. The 3 hour exam resulted in a 100% success rate.
The first of 3 seminars began with Daien Ryu Jo jutsu. This particular style was taught Kunio Murayama Sensei by his teacher Manzo Iwata Sensei. Iwata Sensei was introduced to Fujita Seiko, the 14th generation Soke of Wada-ha Koga Ryu Ninjustu by his karate master Kenwa Mabuni - founder of Shito Ryu Karate-do. Iwata sensei also learned Nanban Sattoryu Kempo from Seiko Sensei and Murayama was exposed to much of these combative systems.
The evening dinner dance was held at The Fownes Hotel - Worcester. The black belt candidates were presented with their new belts and certificates by Master Murayama to great applause. The remainder of the evening saw much celebrating by many who were quick to put on their dancing shoes!
The following day started with senior grades being taught Niafanchi Nidan and for the black belts - Unshu. The last seminar was an open grade event which saw Sensei imparting his knowledge of Nanban sattoryu Kempo - always a crowd pleaser!
