Murayama Sensei arrived from Toronto, Canada where he had been teaching as part of the Iwata Cup weekend festivities.
Arriving at Heathrow Thursday morning Sensei Brian was there to greet him before driving to Worcester where the weekend course was to take place at the Elgar Technical College. |

Another 100% success rate last Sunday at the SMA Kyu Grade Exam. Our sincere congratulations to all the students and to the parents for their continued support.

Yesterday 46 kyu grade students gathered at Kingsmead for the last kyu grade exam of the year. The overal standard was high and resulted in a 100% success rate.
Examiners were Senpai Dona and Sensei Brian, assisted by Danielle Lee. On behalf of the rest of SMA, our sincere congratulations to all and our best wishes for a Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year! |

Seven SMA students made the Murayama UK national team this year and travelled to Monterrey Mexico to take part in the 25th Murayama Cup. Everyone on the team came back with at least one medal - some even achieved 3!
The Friday saw the team training with 4 Japanese masters namely Uchiage Sensei teaching Goju Ryu Kata Kururunfa. Next was Genzo Iwata Sensei teaching Shito Ryu Suparinpei followed by Murayama Sensei teaching Nanban Sattoryu Kenpo and finally Sasaki Sensei teaching Shotokan Kusanku Dai. |

Severn Samurai go to Mexico! - 17-10-2008 |

Seven members of the Samurai Martial Arts karate club have earned themselves a place on a team representing Shito-kai Karate England. Team members include Danielle Lee, 17, Lisa Marfell, 16 and Melissa Clayton, 15 all studying A levels & GCSE’s at the High School for Girls. Yasmin Lee, 14 and Josie Reynolds aged 13 both currently studying at Ribston Hall High School. Naomi Marshall, 13, a black belt studying at Barnwood Park Arts College and Luke Jones, 13 of Dene Magna Technology College. |

1st FKSM Invitational Championships - 05-10-2008 |

The first Shito-kai Murayama Federation championships were held at the Crystal Leiusre Centre, Stourbridge and attracted over 160 competitors from all 3 Federation schools as well as several invited schools. |

Kyu Grade Exam Success - 28-09-2008 |

The 3rd quarterly kyu grade exam took place yesterday at Christ College. Seventy students took part and all gave 100% effort resulting in 100% pass rate! |
