Kata Seminar on Matsumura Bassai - 21-09-2008    
This seminar was the last of 3 fundraising events organised to help send a team of 7 students to this years Copa Murayama in Mexico.
The seminar attracted a modest support but never the less was enjoyed by those who attended. Sensei Brian started by outlining the 3 Important Factors of kata practice - explaining their importance followed by exercises to help improve good kata performance.

Northern Open Classic - 14-09-2008    
This was the KSE squads first time at the Northern Open Classic, so we werent sure what to expect. The tournament was very well attended - in fact perhaps too well attended for a 3 area tournament. View

Luke Jones completes 10K Sponsored Bike Ride - 23-08-2008    
Luke Jones, who is part of the UK Team going to Mexico, completed a 10K bike ride today and has been pledged nearly £500!

Luke, 13 has been training for over 6 years and achieved his black belt nearly a year ago under Master Murayama.

1st Shukokai Invitational Championships - 03-08-2008    
Our team of 15 competitors all made their way to the Hereford Leisure Centre for 9am Sunday morning - just where you want to be on a Sunday morning - right parents? The events kicked off at around 10 with individual kata. Our kata competitors did us proud with Bella Jarvis - Max Pemberton - brother Jordan - Michael Hackman and Charlie Foster all taking 1st place in their divisions. Naomi Marshall also reached a kata final and took 2nd place and Daniel Hopper came 3rd. A fantastic result! View

Naomis Sponsored Bike Ride - 27-07-2008    
Naomi and family members including Sensei Brian - Dona - Bella and Molly set out from the Gloucester City around midday and headed for the beautiful Forest of Dean.

It was a scorcher of a day but the forest provided plenty of shade. After picking the bikes up from pedal-a-bike-away we chose our route and hit the trail..
